Data Deployment Error: FIELD_CUSTOM_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION: The <field> field must be populated with a value

When doing a data deployment, Salesforce may return the following error:

“FIELD_CUSTOM_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION:The Evaluation Event field must be populated with a value”
This issue occurs when the named field is blank but a field validation rule requires a value in that field.

To fix this issue, check the options below:
  • Make sure you have selected the field for deployment in the Object Fields tab.
  • Make sure you have permissions to access the field in the source org.
  • Make sure no trigger is preventing writing in the destination field. Copado recommends disabling related triggers during deployments.
