Creating an API Key

Updated 1 week ago by Copado Solutions

API Keys Overview

An API key is a unique code that is passed into an API to identify the application or user that is making the API request.

A Copado API key allows actions to be scheduled securely and validated in the Copado server. For example, an API key is required for webhooks, scheduled jobs, continuous integration and many more scenarios. API keys are unique to the Salesforce user.

Creating/Resetting an API Key

  1. Navigate to the Account Summary tab.
  2. Click on the sub-tab called API Key.
  3. Click on Create / Reset. A new API key will be created and shown below. Resetting the API key will disable existing webhooks running on that key:
You can also create or reset your API key from the Account Summary subtab on the Getting Started Page.

You should make a note of where API keys are used (if outside of Copado) to ensure reset tokens can be changed in all locations.
